Speaking of drama, we will have a guest speaker in the classroom 2 days; directly from ancient Greece will be Alexander the Great. Students have to take on the role of Alexander through performing a group skit of Alexander at a news conference; Alexander and Darius after the Battle of Issus, appearing together on a TV talk show; or Alexander granting one last interview from his death bed.
Ancient Greece was responsible for the OLYMPICS. We will have our own Olympic games of puzzle-solving, rubber band shooting, cotton ball catapult, and bucketball. Winners received a gold or silver medal.
GREEK FOODS include bread, olives/olive oil, figs/fig newtons, dates, grapes, and grape juice. What olive oil we have leftover we will use for skin scraping, or ancient Greek bathing.
